General Photography Workshops

  • Are you new to photography and need to learn the general principles?
  • Are you an improving amateur and want to take your photography to the next level?
  • Do you want to specialise in a specific genre of the art?

If any of the above applies to you then you're in the right place.

Working from my studio in the beautiful West Dorset village of Compton Valence near Dorchester, I offer either full day or half day photography workshops. These will be tailored to suit your current level of expertise and where you want to go with your photography.

Full Day Workshop - Full Day £100 per person

This consists of a morning of theory learning the three Ws about camera controls; WHAT they do, WHICH to alter and WHY to alter them. Then you'll learn about apertures, shutter speeds, iso settings, lens focal length and their relationships to each other. Finally, we will delve into the art of composition and 'seeing' a potential photograph. I will then show you how to apply this newly acquired knowledge to your particular genre of photography with a practical session putting what you've learnt into practice.

Half Day Workshop - Half Day £70 per person

As per Full day but without the practical session.

PLEASE NOTE: The above prices are for workshops held at my premises. I can come to you if you prefer but this will incur an extra travel / time fee of 0.50p per mile.

If the workshop is to be bought as a present, I can supply you with a voucher presented in one of my Atmospheric Dorset cards; the perfect gift for a friend or loved one.

To purchase a workshop online, please click the following link Workshop Voucher and use the drop down menu to add your option for a full or half day workshop to the basket. You can then either pay using PayPal or request an invoice for cheque / bank transfer details. If you require more details or want to discuss your requirements, then you're more than welcome to Contact me.

Vouchers are valid for one year from date of purchase or from the date they are to be given as a present.

Please Note: Due to people's various dietary needs I don’t provide food, but I will supply you with plenty of tea and / or coffee.
